The job

The owners wanted the house to feel calm but not plain. We stripped decades of vinyl paint off the lime plaster in the hall and stairwell and limewashed it in a warm off-white. The drawing room went a soft green, the dining room a deep blue-grey. Six sash windows were repaired and painted in linseed paint.

They treated the house like it was their own. The hall has never looked better.
