How we work

From first visit to final walk-round.

Here is exactly what happens on a Dustsheet job, so you know what to expect before we arrive.

A period room fully protected with dust sheets and masking before decorating

Seven steps

The same on every job, big or small.

01

Free visit

We look at the rooms, check the walls and woodwork, and talk about colours. Usually 30 to 45 minutes.

02

Written quote

Itemised, fixed and sent within three working days. It lists the prep, paint and number of coats for every room.

03

Booking

We give you a start date and an honest estimate of how long it will take. No deposit under £2,000.

04

Protect

Floors sheeted edge to edge, furniture moved and wrapped, sockets, switches and glass masked.

05

Prepare

Fill, sand with dust extraction, caulk and spot-prime. On old houses we test for lime plaster first.

06

Paint

Two full coats, cut in by hand. Woodwork in eggshell or satin. Clean-up every evening and a photo by text.

07

Walk round

We check every room together, fix any snags on the spot, and hand over your guarantee.

Materials

The right paint for the wall.

We choose paint for the surface, not the brand. You can always bring your own.

Old plaster

Limewash & distemper

Breathable paints for lime plaster and stone, so damp can escape.

Hallways

Scrubbable matt

Tough, wipeable finishes for walls that get knocked.

Woodwork

Oil & water eggshell

Hard-wearing and low-sheen, brushed by hand.

Outside

Microporous & mineral

Paints that move with timber and let masonry breathe.

2

Year guarantee

If anything flakes or cracks, we come back.

Interior work is guaranteed for two years and exterior work for one. No forms, no small print. Just ring us and we’ll come and put it right.

Ready when you are.

Book a free visit and we’ll take it from there.
